The Canadian government has a humanitarian and compassionate consideration policy that is intended to provide a measure of relief for individuals who are inadmissible to Canada.

This policy is available for those who are in the following circumstances:

– They have been the subject of violence or civil unrest.

– They have been victims of crime.

– They are at risk due to their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

– They have experienced persecution or fear on account of race, religion, political opinion, nationality, or membership in a particular social group.

– Their lives would be threatened if they were returned to their home country.

The Canadian government has been actively involved in humanitarian and compassionate considerations for a number of years. The Canadian government has been active in providing assistance to refugees, internally displaced persons, and victims of conflict.

Canada is a signatory to the 1951 Refugee Convention and its 1967 Protocol. Canada also participates in international efforts to provide assistance to refugees through the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Canada is one of the top five refugee-accepting countries in the world, with more than 320,000 resettled refugees since 1979. Canada is also one of the top 10 resettlement countries in terms of the total number of resettled   refugees.
