Visitor Visa in Canada is a temporary visa that allows foreign nationals to visit Canada for a short period of time. A visitor visa is not required if the applicant is traveling to Canada as a tourist, on an approved cruise, or on an approved aircraft.

The Canadian government has introduced electronic travel authorization (eTA) requirements for visitors who fly to or transit through Canada. An eTA is an entry requirement and it doesn’t guarantee entry into Canada.

In order to apply for the visa, you must make sure that you are eligible to do so by checking if your country is on the list of countries whose citizens can apply for a visitor visa without having a temporary resident visa (TRV) first. If it’s not on the list, don’t worry – there’s still hope! You can apply for one at the same time.
